The Strawberry Bowl - Festival Amphitheater was built in 1979. This open-air amphitheater gives both entertainers and audiences an intimate experience.
The Creative Director, Denise A. Silva, is a graduate of the University of Southern California and previous owner of Great Reunions, the nation's largest High School Reunion Planning company. Her background in event planning has prepared her for the enormous undertaking of opening an amphitheater that has been dark for over 10 years.
Denise and her husband Mike, wanted to give their community of Garden Grove, access to quality, affordable entertainment right in their own backyard. Commencing October 3, 2014, the Concert and Movie series provided the community with entertainment from 16 tribute bands and 6 movie nights. The Jazz concert with notable Jazz musicians such as Marvin Mathews and Rusty Johnson wowed the audience. The children's events provided entertainment for kids from 2-7 years in age and the Christmas Show was fun for the entire family.
In addition, Denise wanted to create a place where non-profit organizations could easily put on successful fundraisers. To date - The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Fiji Dental and Medical Foundation, Shakespeare OC, Rusty Johnson's American Dreams and RYTMO (Reaching youth through music opportunities) have all benefitted from the opening of The Strawberry Bowl - Festival Amphitheater and collectively raised thousands of dollars for their respective organizations.
We are located on Garden Grove's Historic Main Street among 8 restaurants and 5 Bars. The theater reflects a commitment to cultural enrichment and provides a spectacular setting for perfoming arts programs and community activities.
